Sony confirms “compromise of personal information”

Sony has confirmed that some personal information has been compromised in the recent PSN intrusion.  However, they haven’t actually specified what information was compromised…no word on if credit card info has been pilfered, although they believe that everything ranging from address to email address to PSN ID to (possibly) your purchase history has been taken.  For now, we still don’t have any definite word on whether your financial information attatched to your PSN account is safe.  Any theories on why it’s taking Sony so long to figure this out?
