The upcoming days

Sorry folks, no article today.  BUT!  We do have some fun stuff on the way.  Over the next week, we’re going to be putting up reviews of the Planar 997-5253-00 Dual Monitor Stand, Jeff Burk’s new book Super Giant Monster Time! (a parody of those awesome old “choose your own adventure books), the movie Law Abiding Citizen, and, if all goes as planned this weekend, we should have a review of Repo Men up on Monday. Stay tuned!

We are now on last.fm!

You can now listen to our music on last.fm! We haven’t completely filled out the artist page yet, but as new tracks are finished they will be accessible on there.  Please add us to your library and play at least one track…we won’t show up in search results until enough people have listened!

New music track!

The first track of our Lost on the Way to the Laundry project has been completed.  This track really sets the tone, and hopefully the rest of the project will turn out as good.  Enjoy!

P.S.  Hopefully, the redesigned music page will be appearing sometime this week, although it may get pushed into next week.

The coming week

Next week will bring a review of the remake of George Romero’s The Crazies, a look back at the John Waters classic Polyester, the debut of the new music page (as well as a newly finished track), and more.

And now, a random picture of some cool clouds!

This/next week

Between Bioshock 2, Serious Sam HD, my second playthrough of Mass Effect 2, insanity going on at work, and working on the album, I don’t have much time for writing.  Once things quiet down in my gaming and my professional life, posting will get back to its normal schedule!

***2/18/2010 update: Things are finally starting to return to normal around here…we will be back to our regular posting schedule (one article, every weekday) starting on Tuesday, February 23rd.  We will kick things off with a review of the new Martin Scorsese film Shutter Island.  Thanks to all our loyal readers for being patient…the content is coming!

Sorry folks

No articles this weekend folks, there is much to do around Casa de Nerd.  Our posting will resume on Monday though!  In the meantime, download a couple of free tracks off our forthcoming album.  Drop us an email via the link on the right and let us know what you think!

Free downloads from The Transient Unknown

Here at Living With a Nerd, we are currently working on an ambient album.  I’ve put four of the completed tracks up on the site as free downloads that you can distribute however you please. We will also have an incomplete version of the current track in progress on that page as well.  Check them out, and look for The Transient Unknown on Magnatune at some point in late spring.  Enjoy!

Again…

Sorry for the fake out, folks.  Things around here are still fairly busy, so Living With a Nerd will return to its near-daily updates after the start of the new year.  If you are interested in reading about the recent redesign of how our desks are set up, you can do so here. Thank you all for your patience, and happy new year!

The next few days

3 pm 7 more hours of snow

Both pictures taken on 12/19/09 at 3 PM here in Montgomery County, MD. We had about 7 more hours of solid snowfall after these pictures were taken; the car in the picture on the right was 100% buried by the time the storm passed.

We are taking some time off in preparation for the holidays here at Living With a Nerd.  Our posting is scheduled to resume on Friday, December 25th.  Thank you all for your patience, and have a great holiday season!

The Week of Horror!

rawr

In the spirit of the upcoming holiday season, the next week on Living With a Nerd is going to be a week of horror!  Each day, we are going to review one of our five favourite horror movies.  They will be posted in order of release…I swear this wasn’t intentional, but the five films were released one year after another:  1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981.

Stay tuned, it’s going to be a fun week!
