Sorry about the lack of updates

I’ve been sick for quite a while, and haven’t really been in the mood to write about anything. I’ve still been gaming a lot though, so there will be plenty to talk about in the coming days.
There should be a couple of new articles up in the next couple of days.

Oh Spore…why do you tease me so

I’ve been playing Spore for about a week now…the cell stages and the civilization stage were great fun, but the creature stage and tribal stage left a lot to be desired.
I kind of wish that the cell stage had been greatly extended…it only took me about 30 minutes or so (and it only took Brittnie [...]

Reticulating Spines

Spore, so far, is quite fun. I just finished the cell phase this morning before I left for work…unfortunately, I also just started the cell phase this morning before I left for work. It only took me about 25 minutes, which is a real shame. I was just starting to really get into it. I [...]

The joys of a gaming PC

Man…I REALLY missed gaming on my PC. As previously mentioned, I finally got my PC back up to gaming specs again…the ATI 4850 that I tossed in there brought me back into the fold. As a result, I now have a chance to play a bunch of games that I missed out on.
Even though I [...]

So close…

Spore arrives in a matter of days. There are already a couple of reviews that have hit the web, and they are mostly quite positive. As expected, there are some issues…but that doesn’t surprise me. I find it nigh impossible that a game like this was even attempted, much less made.
I had been distracted the [...]

A legend dies, another legend is soon born

With great sadness, I found out about Don LaFontaine dying on Monday. Known as “the movie trailer guy”, LaFontaine was known for his very distinct and deep voice. Having provided voice overs for countless movie trailers and literally thousands of commercials, he will be sorely missed.
In other geek related news, Spore arrives next week! As [...]

Sometimes, you don’t need a story…sometimes, you wish there was one.

I know that it came out a while ago, but I just recently started going through Lost Planet for the first time. I’m only on Chapter 7, so I can’t attest to the later portions in the game, but so far it is pretty fun.
Even though completely ignoring the story in no way impacts how [...]

Such an enjoyable lifestyle

A couple of months ago on his blog, Wil Wheaton mentioned something that really got my attention: being a geek is fantastic. We get the coolest shirts, some of the best narrative experiences (geek-leaning books, games, etc.), and some of the most diverse folks around.
This got me thinking…it seems that our culture comes in waves. [...]

A successful surgery, and super excitement

About a week ago, my 360 succumbed to the dreaded RRoD. Well, with a small ten dollar investment in a “repair kit” from ebay, some slight skepticism, and a steady hand, it appears that my 360 is functional again. There are tons of websites out there that show exactly what causes the RRoD and how these [...]

We’re back!

Our web site and our blogs have been in a severe state of stagnation…no new blog posts have been posted since May(!), and no new articles have been posted since February(!!!). I have had plenty to write about since then, but in all honesty, this happened because I got lazy. Well, Brittnie and I have [...]
