Etrian Odyssey III preorder goodies

It’s no secret that I absolutely adored Etrian Odyssey.  Etrian Odyssey II was even better.  Now, the item you receive with a preorder of Etrian Odyssey III has been revealed…and holy crap is it awesome.  Art books are a normal thing to include with preorders, but this one doesn’t just cover Etrian Odyssey III…it covers the entire trilogy.  Even if you don’t own a Nintendo DS, it’s worth preording this game just for the art book.  Amazing stuff.

Kotaku has delved deep into the official Dragon Age 2 website, commenting on plot, gameplay differences, box art, and more.  Be sure to give their findings a look.  It’s no secret that I freakin’ LOVED Dragon Age, so it should come as no surprise for you to know that I can’t wait to waste away a couple of weeks on Dragon Age 2.

Wired goes hands-on with the Dell Streak

The upcoming Dell Streak, which is positioned somewhere between a smart phone and a tablet, has gotten manhandled by the folks over at Wired.  While the Streak isn’t really a product I’m interested in purchasing, I’m glad to see that Wired was rather impressed with it.

We have reached the single digits, Captain!

There are now officially less than 10 days until our wedding…which means things are getting pretty crazy around here.  There is still so much to take care of, like finalizing the music, finalizing food (although that is pretty much finished), getting the rest of the booze, etc etc.  As I’m sure you can imagine, as the day gets closer and closer, updates will be more scarce around here.  There is also the honeymoon (part of which shall be consumed by Super Mario Galaxy 2 co-op), in which exactly zero updates will be made to the site.  Once the whole wedding thing is over and life returns to “normal”, we’ll continue posting “normally”.

Also, since a portion of our honeymoon involves going on a ghost hunt, I hope to have some creepy stories/pictures when we get back!  And, naturally, our review of Super Mario Galaxy 2 :-)

New NBA Jam might be coming to 360/PS3 after all

Kotaku has word (via Gamerbytes) that, although touted as a Wii exclusive, the new NBA Jam might be coming to the 360 and the PS3 after all.  Apparently, the game has been in rated in Germany for both platforms.  While I would have no problem playing NBA Jam on a Wii, I’m glad that it’s looking like this classic franchise will be able to reach more gamers.

Back in the day, my brother and I spent dozens of hours fighting it out on the SNES while utilizing the “unlimited turbo” mode.  I cannot wait for another entry in the series.

Ever wonder how an F-35 gets painted?

Gizmodo has a short story up how an F-35 Lightning II receives its colors.  Lasers?  Paint?  State of the art plane?  Yes please!

Ars Technica previews Limbo

Limbo, a striking-looking downloadable title coming soon to the 360, has been given the preview treatment by Ben Kuchera over at Ars Technica.  It’s starting to look like a definite day-one purchase for me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your new Spider-Man is ::drumroll::

Slashfilm has confirmed that Andrew Garfield (of “Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” fame) will be playing Spider-Man in future upcoming live-action films.  From what little I’ve seen him in, he seems like a good fit.  Click here for his entry on IMDB.

Impending doom

A few days ago, we had some pretty heavy thunderstorms here in Maryland.  I sit on the 8th floor in an office building, and I generally have good views of storms when they roll through, but the things we saw that day outside our office window were amazing. The above picture was taken just as the storm front was rolling through.  The winds shifted suddenly, and the leading edge started wisping upward as the wind sliced through it.

Okamiden, the sequel to the PS2 and Wii classic Okami, has spawned a massive plush wolf.  I think it might be a bit overpriced ($60, and that’s before shipping, assuming you can even order one here in the states), but then again at nearly two feet long, it is a rather large plush.  I think you’d have to keep this one on your couch for use as an extra pillow…
